So here’s something you don’t necessarily see every day: A lawmaker excited enough about a bill he’s introduced that he has his staff make a video about it. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, has done, hoping to muster up support for his measure to make it more difficult for online marketplaces to sell children for sex online, has created a video aimed at addressing his years-long fight against Backpage.com, a website that is an online marketplace but that is also known among anti-trafficking groups as a leading site for selling children for sex.

In the video, Portman highlights the bill aimed at cracking down on what one watch-dog called “the Wal–Mart” of child sex trafficking.

Backpage has successfully defended itself in a spate of lawsuits by citing the 1996 Communications Decency Act.
